Student in School

Starting in September 2021, we plan to reopen schools for in-person instruction for students in Pre-K through grade 12. Families who are unable to send their children to school in person due to family health concerns may select a remote learning program for the 2021-22 school year. Please take a moment to fill out the 2021-22 learning selection form to commit to in-person or fully remote learning for the 2021-22 school year.

Seeking Student Voice

We want to hear and learn from students. Does your student have something to share about their experience as a student in Highline? We are seeking students to share their experiences at the 2021 Highline Equity Symposium on Tuesday, August 24.

Next fall, we plan to reopen schools for in-person instruction five full days a week for students in Pre-K through grade 12, as long as public health authorities continue to support in-person learning.

As recommended by the CDC and Washington State Department of Health, we will require three-foot distancing, face masks and other safety measures. Families will be able to choose a remote option.

Highline’s summer school programs are an opportunity for students to strengthen and build upon their knowledge, makeup credits, and keep their minds active during summer break.

Happy School Nurse Day

This week we’re celebrating our school nurses! This year especially we want to shout from the rooftop: THANK YOU! School nurses serve our students in managing complex conditions, identifying mental health issues, leveling the field with regard to health disparities, and now, testing, tracking cases and vaccinating staff.

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7 this year. After more than a year of pandemic teaching and learning, our families and staff appreciate teachers like never before. Read the Gold Star nominations for teachers and meet the nominees.

Teaching Through a Pandemic

The past 14 months have been extremely challenging for educators across the country. In Highline, our teachers showed incredible innovation and perseverance as they transitioned to distance learning and then hybrid learning, finding new ways to engage students and families.
