High School Athletics Update

High School Athletics Update

What We Know About Sports

Here is what we know today about our summer and fall athletics programs based on current state and county public health guidelines, and in coordination with WIAA.

All athletic camps this summer have been canceled.

Coaches may hold Zoom meetings and suggest workouts for students. These are all optional, volunteer and self-directed activities. No coaching or team activities on or off our campuses are allowed until further notice.

Students hoping to participate in fall sports, including incoming 9th grade students, are encouraged to make sure they have an updated physical.

Incoming 9th grade students can expect to hear from their high school athletic director with further information on high school sports registration (Family ID) when King County enters Phase 2.

Registration to participate in summer sports activities this summer, to prepare for high school fall athletics, will open on Family ID once King County enters Phase 2. We will share updated information about athletics when King County moves into Phase 2 of Washington’s coronavirus recovery plan.

Student learning remains our top priority. Athletics is just one part of planning for Highline’s educational program for fall 2020.

Please contact athletic directors at neighborhood high schools with additional questions.

Scholar Athlete Video & Winners

The Scholar-Athlete, Coach and Community Recognition Banquet went virtual this year to honor students who shine in multi-sport athletics, academics and community service. 16 scholarships were awarded to senior student-athletes on May 27, and coaches and community volunteers were recognized.
