Do you speak, read, and write in more than one language? Are you looking to use your bilingual skills in the workforce, but need more training and support? Consider joining our Bilingual Teaching Fellow (BTF) program.
BTF supports paraprofessionals with bilingual skills in Highline Public Schools to become certificated teachers with an elementary education endorsement. The program is available to current employees and new applicants.
Fellows study over two years while working full time in paraprofessional roles, maintaining regular salary and benefits. Through their work as paraprofessionals, they practice and deepen their study, They graduate with a teaching certificate and bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University’s Woodring College of Education. Courses are held locally and online.
The next cohort will begin in the summer of 2020. Join us for an information session on our Bilingual Teaching Fellow program.
